Optofluidics

Optofluidics is the combination of microfluidics and integrated optics.

Optical detection is commonly used in microfluidic analysis systems such as microarrays or capillary electrophoresis. Lionix believes that integration of optical detectors in microfluidic analytical systems brings functional as well as economic advantages. Typical examples of integrated optical sensors suitable for hybrid or monolithic combination with microfluidic systems are based on fluorescence, interferometry, refractive index or absorption.
